Why use an import agent to source your vehicle ?

Well, you could do it all yourself but the chance of making a mistake is high when you've never imported before. The import rules and regulations become tighter every year, if you are not aware of them it's easy to make an expensive mistake which far exceeds the cost of using an agent.

When importing you need to know some very important things:

  • What vehicles are eligible for import and how to obtain an Import Approval.
  • How to get the car through Customs and Quarantine.
  • Requirements for importing air conditioning gases.
  • Where to buy to get the best price.
  • How the auctions work – the traps to avoid and how to choose the best vehicle.
  • Who you can trust in Japan to source a quality vehicle and export it safely.

Our service

We have been assisting private buyers to import their own vehicles since 1999.

Over this time we have sourced many thousands of vehicles and our service has become very well known and highly regarded in the import industry. Few companies since the Global Financial Crisis hold any vehicles in stock so the majority of vehicles these days are sourced to order directly from auction. We cover all the worthwhile auctions across Japan.

We inspect all auction vehicles in person prior to purchase.

Depending on how much time we have at auction on the day this will usually include additional pictures. We discuss each vehicle inspection with you before agreeing your maximum bid and guiding you if required.

We inspect as many cars as required to source your vehicle

Inspections are undertaken by the same agents we have used for many years, so you can be confident of the condition of your vehicle.

You only pay the final auction price of the vehicle plus the standard buyer's fee

This can be well below your maximum budget. Shipping and paperwork is dealt with quickly and efficiently and you will have one point of contact with us from start to finish. We are able to pass on trade prices for most compliance work to our customers - this generally saves hundreds of dollars. We only charge $1,100 regardless of the type of vehicle or how many we need to inspect to find the right one for you, and In most cases our service fee is 80% refundable should you decide to cancel the search.

Please be careful

We started offering our service to help private buyers import quality vehicles at low cost AND low risk, and our philosophy has always remained the same.  Yes, you could do it all on your own but if you buy a cheap car online from a Japanese company you don't know what condition it will be in or whether it will arrive at all. Generally they will not know what is eligible for import to your country or be able to advise you on the import process. This could lead to your vehicle being worthless on arrival and having to be immediately re-exported, along with a large fine from Customs.

Repaired and rusty vehicles may be rejected following import, and not all variations or year ranges of some vehicle models are eligible.  You could make many mistakes if you don't know the process to follow.  We have been contacted so many times over the years by people asking us to assist them to import "cheap" vehicles they have seen online which are simply not allowed into the country. Becoming a Full Customer

Although you are welcome to use our free trial service, our subscription customers receive priority attention. Once you become a subscription customer, we give you full access to our Auction alerts system and will inspect and bid on vehicles of interest for you until we find your dream car.

12 month search limit. 60 day search limit.
Multiple searches for makes and models of cars, with our professional advice about how to tailor your search effectively. Single search limited to single make and model.
Receive priority emails before free customers Receive emails after subscription customers.

To become a subscription customer:

  1. Discussion your specifications and budget with an advisor
  2. Pay our AUS $1,100 service fee and sign and return out service conditions
  3. We will email you a tax invoice for your records and enter your details into our system
  4. Step 4 - The search begins! Simply reply back to any vehicles of interest once your have reviewed your priority emails and we will call you back with a physical inspection report from one of our reliable representatives located at the auction site.
